In the morning of April 18, Dr. Hu, the Member of Academic Committee of the Center, the Director of Chinese Program of WWF-US and other persons came to Collaborative Innovation Center of Two-oriented Society and Ecological Civilization to conduct Academic Exchange. Xiaohong CHEN, the Director of this center and some members of research team have attended this activity.
Dr Hu made an academic report on the subject of “Construction the Long-term Mechanism of Atmosphere Pollution and Greenhouse Gas Reduction by the Means of Macroeconomic Regulation and Control---the Supplementary Advice for ‘Ten Articles for Atmosphere Pollution Controlling’”. To the problems of lacking of effective means for governance goals existing in “Ten Articles for Atmosphere Pollution Controlling” announced by state and “the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Atmosphere Pollution”, Dr Hu put forward the prevention and control policy for further improving Chinese air pollution, showed how to simulate the policy effect formed by levying resource tax and environment tax by using CGE model, systematically concluded international experience and lessons which can be drawn from fields of the prevention and control of atmospheric pollution, and gave supplementary advice for” Ten Articles for Atmosphere Pollution Controlling” and “the Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Atmosphere Pollution”.
After the report, Dr. Hu and participants conducted the intensive academic exchange and offered advice on the issues of future development of the center, broadening international cooperation fields, etc. Prof. Chen made a summary and expressed her gratitude to Tao HU’s excellent report and spoke highly of the content of this report, thinking this activity will largely promote the development of the center.
Dr HU has paid long-term attention to the influence of China's economic development and environmental risk. Chinese program of WWF-US led by him is cooperating with Chinese government at all levels closely, and contributes to Chinese sustainable development and environment protection.
